Green Babies: Earth Day in Central Park

If you live in New York City- mark your calendar for April 19th! Bring the kids over to the Central Park Zoo to celebrate Earth Day. There will be multiple activities including crafts and a chance to visit with polar bears, Gus and Ida. 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Serious, Sweet Tooth

Having just returned from a stop at Tasti D Lite I'm not one to talk... but this kid has got one serious sweet tooth. Check out the adorable videos below:

Destination: Modern Art

Take an intergalactic journey with your kids- one of the many reasons why I love the Museum of Modern Art!

Just 'cuz

Baby Bump. Say it, hear it, love it, live it. It seems like every time I get online, walk pass a newsstand or turn on the TV... I see these words! We are obsessed with BABY BUMPS! You may be laughing (I am a little), but you know it's true! You are totally guilty of talking about Angelina Jolie's growing bump and speculating about Kate Hudson's non-bump!! Why are we so fixated on big bellies?

Green Babies: 50% off

Soho's Sense of Wonder, is a newly opened children's clothing store that sells garments made of mostly organic cotton. Everything is adorable and reasonably priced, but they are currently having a sale. You can be green and save green at the same time. Sounds wonderful to me!

Fab Prints, Fraction of the Cost

First thought: an exasperated, "is nothing sacred!?" Second thought: "buying in bulk ain't what it used to be."
The iconic, sherbet-colored prints of Lilly Pulitzer have reached the discount tables of none other than, Costco! Suburban mommies now have an affordable option beyond The Children's Place! The catch: The printed shifts only come in little girls' sizes; sorry mommies. But compared to the usual high prices you'd pay at a designer retailer- you can buy your princess an authentic Lilly frock at a mere $23.99!! Don't walk- run!

Listen Up: The Alternative to White Noise

Saw an ad for this on Babble.com today. Think it's genius. Check it out babies: now you too, can have your own mp3 like Mommy and Daddy! Peapod Toys' has a created a splashproof music player for little ones; it comes preloaded with children's songs and stories, and is not a choking hazard! (Golf claps.) We all know that music is a great tool in child development- and this snazzy little music box seems like a great idea to me. As a Celine Dion-belting, Harry Connick Jr.-crooning little tot- I would have loved to have had one of these!

Not your mother's flats...

...so why are they $118?? I'm all about great shoes... but flipping through the new J.Crew catalogue- even I was taken aback. Beneath a tutu-clad little girl, lie scattered pairs of multicolored ballet flats and the phrase; "one pair is never enough." Spending big bucks on flats that will be worn through dirty playgrounds and grassy parks seems a bit ridiculous, no? (Spending $118 each, on multiple pairs!?) Little girls deserve to look fabulous of course, but unless J.Crew has developed a magical stain-resistant, water-repelling satin it seems absurd to me. Question: Would you spend this much for mini-flats?

P.S. I sound like my mom.
